Michael Phelps BUSTED FOR DUI Again

Michael Phelps was arrested for driving under the influence in Baltimore, Maryland early this morning.

The USA Olympic legend was pulled over around 1:40 AM in his white Land Rover. We're told he bombed his field sobriety test ... and his B.A.C. was almost twice the legal limit.

Officials just issued a statement saying Phelps was initially pulled over for going 84 in a 45 ... and during the stop, the officer noticed he was hammered.

Sources say Phelps was hauled to a nearby station where he was booked for DUI -- and was eventually released.

Cops say Phelps was charged with DUI, excessive speeding and crossing double lane lines.

It's Michael's 2nd DUI arrest -- he was popped in Maryland in 2004 when he was 19 years old. He struck a plea deal with prosecutors and pled guilty in exchange for 18 months probation.

George Clooney: We Sold Our Wedding Pictures To Highest Bidder For Charity

George Clooney put his wedding pics on the auction block and a tabloid was one of the winners ... but the money is ALL going to charities that he fiercely supports.

George's wedding pics have been sold to People and the British tabloid Hello! Sources familiar with the sales say it was strictly an issue of which mag anted up the most.  People won the North America market and Hello! conquered Europe.

Sources say ... the money will be going to several human rights charities. We're told the lion's share is earmarked for the Satellite Sentinel Project -- a charity that monitors the Sudan for war crimes. Clooney is a co-founder of the group, which launched in 2010.

As one source mentioned... "Every photo in both magazines will be saving a life."

Amal is also featured in Vogue magazine.

Ben Affleck Is Totally Cool With Complaints Over His Batman Casting

After rubbing Ben Affleck‘s nose in the fact that he wasn't able to attend George Clooney‘s wedding over the weekend, “Today” Show co-host Matt Lauer asked the actor about all the haters who were angry when he was cast as Batman in the latest Warner Bros. film franchise.

Affleck, as cool as the other side of the pillow and also immune to these sorts of questions after 15 years of periodic public ribbing, brushed off the criticism.

We have these cultural stories that people have attachments to, they care very much about, the fans have imagined it, they write fan fiction, and they get very into and it and they're certainly entitled to those feelings,” the Oscar-winning filmmaker and world-famous actor said about cranky comic book fans.

“This is the movie that more than any other movie combined, people come up to me and are really excited,” he added, speaking about “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” “So to have all this attention, some of it's positive, some of it's negative, I think in the end the truth is, you make the movie and the movie works or it doesn't.”

To his credit, Lauer attacked the angry fanboys on Affleck's behalf, predicting that Batfleck would end up much like Daniel Craig‘s James Bond, a casting choice that was initially met with great displeasure among 007 devotees.

Brad Pitt Opens Up About Marriage, Family Time And His Squabble With Co-Star Shia LaBeouf

Brad Pitt covers the new issue of British GQ, and the 50-year-old actor chats about how he puts his family before work these days, why he's not on Twitter and what he really thinks about Shia LaBeouf!

"I wouldn't say [marriage is] just a title," Pitt tells the magazine. "There's more to it than that." He wouldn't really elaborate more on his recent wedding to longtime love Angelina Jolie, but when asked about work, he said:
"I’ve been slowing down for a while now. And slowly transitioning to other things. And, truthfully, I do want to spend more time with my kids before they’re grown up and gone ... I'm actually very snobbish about directors. I have to say no all the time. 'No' is the most powerful word in our business. You've got to protect yourself… To leave home, it's got to be worth leaving. It's got to be worth it."

So why isn't he on Twitter?
"Listen, I see a benefit in it. You could, you know, combat the misconceptions of the misquotes immediately. And if I'd have had that in my younger days, I'd have used it… because I felt quite used, and completely misunderstood, and misread, and not given the benefit of the doubt. You know, I felt that a lot in my first years. I would have brought some logic to the table, and brought it immediately. But now, at this point, I don't want to bother with it."

Brad also had a few things to say about his Fury co-star Shia LaBeouf, and much to our surprise, they were totally nice! On their disagreement on the set of the World War II drama, Brad said:
"We were driving down the road, I'm in the turret, Shia is at the other turret, and Scott is on the back, spitting juice. And I'm starting to get pissed off, I'm starting to get hot, because this is our home, he's disrespecting our home, you know? So I said, in the scene with the cameras rolling, 'You're going to clean that shit up.' Shia clocks it, and you have to understand, we've been through severe boot camp already, we've been through a lot in this tank. Shia saw it and felt the same - he's disrespecting our home. So Shia had the same reaction I did and started having some words… then I had to get in after the cameras were rolling and explain it to Scotty, you know… The funny thing is, when we got home at the end of the day and read the script, it said Scotty's character is 'chewing tobacco and spitting it on the back of the tank'. He was just doing as instructed in the script! So we were the knobs in the end…"

Brad added, "Oh, I love this boy. He's one of the best actors I've ever seen. He's full-on commitment, man. He's living it like no one else, let me tell you. I've been fortunate to work with a lot of great actors. He's one of the best I've seen." Interesting!

And speaking of famous fellows, Brad had a few things to say about pal George Clooney, who tied the knot over the weekend. We find it odd that Brad wasn't at his buddy's wedding, but it doesn't seem like there's a feud between the stars.

When asked about Clooney's recent remark that Pitt was "unreachable," the actor says, "Well, you know, George is extremely accessible. He's one of our best representatives. He's funny as sh*t. He's a joy to be around. I guess maybe I'm more of a miserable bastard. [laughs]. I'm a bit of a loner you know? I'm more quiet by nature. And coming from, you know, hillbilly country, I'm probably more reserved."

Amanda Bynes Arrested For Driving Under The Influence of Drugs

Amanda Bynes was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning for driving under the influence of drugs.

The troubled starlet was cruising around the San Fernando Valley in her Mercedes when she abruptly stopped in the middle of an intersection on Van Nuys Blvd., catching the eye of a CHP officer who pulled her over and determined she was compromised before taking her to the police station, where she was evaluated and found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. That controlled substance is rumored to be weed, which she has had problems with in the past.

The 28-year-old was booked on DUI and held until she posted $15,000 bail. The She's The Man star has an upcoming court appearance scheduled for Oct. 23, stemming from her 2012 DUI arrest. She is currently on three years probation from the prior conviction, so it remains to be seen what will happen because of this latest offense.

Lauren Conrad Shows Off Her Dreamy Beverly Hills Penthouse

The former Hills starlet is featured in the new issue of InStyle, and she gives the mag an intimate look at her 3,233-square-foot penthouse, which she purchased in 2012 for $1.3 million. The home has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, and while we're in love with the light and bright kitchen, Conrad says the bathroom is her favorite spot. "It's very peaceful in there," she says. "I’m a big fan of a claw-foot tub for that day when you want to come home and take a bath.”

"My style as far as decor is pretty similar to my style when I’m dressing myself," she continues. "I definitely like neutrals, I like investment pieces." But unlike her wardrobe, she really knows how to spice things up with her furniture! From the bright yellow L-shaped couch in the breakfast nook to the orange sofa in the living room, LC gets the importance of color.

But how much time does she really spend in this pad? After all, back in February she bought an $8.5 million home in Laguna Beach, and the year before that she bought a $3.6 million home in Brentwood. Conrad married longtime love William Tell earlier this month, so we'd imagine the two will be settling in to one of the larger estates at some point in the near future.

Kendra Wilkinson And Hank Baskett Bond With Their Kids After His Alleged Affair With Transsexual Model

On Saturday, Kendra Wilkinson and her husband Hank Baskett went to son Hank Jr.'s baseball game, and they brought their 4-month-old daughter Alijah along and took turns holding her.

According to reports, Hank hooked up with transsexual model Ava London, whom he met online, just before Kendra gave birth to their second child, Alijah Mary earlier this spring. "When the news broke, I flipped on Hank and told him to get out of the house," Kendra told People magazine. "But then I allowed him to come back and get Little Hank, because we knew there was going to be this sh*t storm. I had to calm down and really just think logically and figure out what the right thing to do was. I was like, you need to take him and just hide out for a while. But what was so hard about it was that I felt I just gave my son away to the man who'd cheated on his family."

Hank took the couple's five-year-old son to New Mexico while Kendra stayed at home with their then 5-week-old daughter. "It was so gross to me, but I knew in the back of my mind that he's a great father, and is the only one who could protect his son," she continued. "If he'd stayed here, he'd have been hounded. If I took him to preschool, to the movies, I would not feel safe. But giving Little Hank to Hank to go to New Mexico was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life ... I had to just allow him to think he was just visiting Grandma and Grandpa. It was the right thing to do."

Denzel Washington – Mr. Dependable when it comes to the box office — did it again this weekend with “The Equalizer.” The R-rated action movie re-teaming him with “Training Day”director Antoine Fuqua blasted its way to No. 1 with a $35 million opening and easily whacked last week's top film “The Maze Runner.”

Fox's young adult epic took in $17.5 million and was battling this weekend's other wide opener, “The Boxtrolls,” for second. Focus Features’ 3D animated family film from Laika Entertainment took in an estimated $17.2 million.

George Clooney's Wedding Happening This Weekend

George Clooney's wedding to Amal Alamuddin is going to be one A-list affair.

The nuptials are reportedly going down on Saturday in Venice, Italy -- and some of the groom's famous friends have already been seen arriving in the picturesque locale.

The future newlyweds were spotted on Friday riding around in the canals on a water taxi, where they were joined by BFFs Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber. The bride-to-be looked both elegant and gorgeous in a black and white striped dress -- and we really can't wait to see what she wears on the big day!

But the supermodel and her man aren't the only stars in town for the main event.

The actor's "Ocean's Thirteen" costars Matt Damon and Ellen Barkin have also been spotted in town, as well as George's father Nick, his actor cousin Miguel Ferrer, Toto guitarist Steve Lukather and actor Richard Kind, who had Clooney as the Best Man for his wedding.

'Gilligan's Island' at 50: A Classic Comedy's Surprising Musical Legacy

Gilligan's Island is 50 years old. Its music is timeless.

"'Just sit right back, and you'll hear a tale...' The catchy theme from Gilligan’s Island is etched in the memories of generations of Americans, including mine!" Rick Bogard, music professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, said via email. "The familiar five-note intro is sure to send me to the television to watch another rerun of one of the favorite shows of my childhood."

Indeed, "The Ballad of Gilligan's Isle," written by sitcom creator and executive producer Sherwood Schwartz and George Wyle at the behest of network execs who worried audiences wouldn't understand how a shipmate (Bob Denver), a skipper (Alan Hale Jr.), a millionaire (Jim Backus) and the rest came to be stranded together on an uncharted island, is oft-cited as a TV favorite.

Don’t Expect To See ‘Aliens’ In ‘Prometheus 2′

For a movie that takes place in the same universe as the “Alien” movies, “Prometheus” was pretty light on the iconic creatures. The film’s only “Xenomorph” appears right at the end, as it bursts out of the chest of one of the godlike “Engineers.”

That last scene suggested to some fans that “Prometheus 2,” still in development, would include an expanded role for the Xenomorphs that terrorized Sigourney Weaver across four films, and did battle with the Predators in two other movies we’d like to forget. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

“Prometheus” director Ridley Scott suggests the Xenomorph is retired — or, at least, not a part of his plans for the sequel.

“The beast is done. Cooked,” Ridley said. “It’s very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it’s obscene. They didn’t want to do it and I said, ‘I want to do it, it’s fantastic.’ But after four [films] … I think it wears out a little bit. There’s only so much snarling you can do. I think you’ve got to come back with something more interesting. And I think we’ve found the next step. I thought the Engineers were quite a good start.”

So, can we expect more Engineers in the next “Prometheus” movie? New types of aliens? At the very least, we won’t see more of the Xenomorph, unless Scott’s just keeping his plans for those acid-bleeding monsters in the dark for now.

“Prometheus 2,” starring Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender, is currently scheduled for March 4, 2016.

Tables were overturned, bottles upon bottles of Champagne were broken and glasses crashed to the floor. Only two bodyguards had been hired to monitor what was supposed to be a small, VIP-only event, but it turned into a huge mess!

Jake Gyllenhaal Lists Hollywood Hills Home For $3.5 Million

Jake Gyllenhaal just listed his Hollywood Hills home for $3.5 million, and by "just listed" we literally mean in the last 24 hours! The actor purchased the place back in 2005 under a trust for $2.5 million, so he stands to make a million bucks on the sale!

The abode is described as a "gated celebrity compound on almost 2 acres down a long private drive" in a "private setting on a lushly planted estate-size lot with trails and a large grassy yard." Kris And Bruce Jenner Divorce: $60 Million Split

Kris and Bruce Jenner's divorce settlement was probably less than you think, because multiple sources say, the pot they divided was approximately $60 million.

We're told dividing the assets was "easy and amicable" ... almost all of their earnings were put in a joint account, and that includes their TV profits, Bruce's speaking engagements and their ownership in various businesses.

Lawyers were not involved in the property settlement ... it was all done with the help of their business managers. Each filed legal docs in pro per -- meaning without lawyers.

Part of the settlement ... Kris gets the Hidden Hills estate. Bruce gets to keep his Sherwood Country Club membership.

There's no spousal support. The property gets divided, and that's that.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Romances Heather Milligan At German Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest looks more like a love fest for Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The Terminator star held hands with girlfriend Heather Milligan as he squired her about the celebration in Germany on Monday. The two were joined by fellow actor and Scorpion King star Ralf Moeller.

While they left the lederhosen at home, the couple looked in sync in brown coats and footwear for the clear fall day.

The two, who have been dating for more than a year, seem to be well matched in more than fashion. Last fall, the 67-year-old was spotted giving the 39-year-old physical therapist a smooch outside Fig Restaurant.

It is the former California governor's first public relationship since separating from his wife, TV personality Maria Shriver, who filed for divorce in 2011 after he admitted to fathering a love child with their housekeeper, Mildred Baena.

‘The Shawshank Redemption’ At 20: How It Went From Bomb To Beloved

When it premiered on September 23, 1994, “The Shawshank Redemption” barely registered at the box office. The prison drama opened at No. 9, below the odious sex comedy “Exit to Eden” and just above Robert Redford’s “Quiz Show,” already in its fifth week. Though nominated for seven Academy Awards, the film failed to connect with audiences and vanished from theaters with little fanfare. And then, slowly but surely, its fortunes began to change. On its 20th anniversary, here’s how “The Shawshank Redemption” beat the odds and became a beloved classic.

Stephen King

Prior to 1982, most readers thought of King as an author who wrote only horror, but the publication of “Different Seasons” changed all that. A critically acclaimed bestseller, this beautifully crafted collection of four dramatic novellas introduced King to an even broader audience. The book’s first story, “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption,” remains one of his most deeply humane and hopeful works of fiction.

Frank Darabont

In an interview with Creative Screenwriting, Frank Darabont praised King as “a very old-fashioned storyteller, in the best sense of being old-fashioned,” and the same can be said about “The Shawshank Redemption.” Darabont, who also adapted the Oscar nominated screenplay, imbued the film with a timeless quality that recalls the classic cinema of Capra and Sturges. As such, it’s a movie that generously rewards repeated viewings.

The Voice-Over

Drawn heavily, and often verbatim, from the novella’s first-person prose, Morgan Freeman’s nuanced narration does far more than just advance the plot. The actor’s mellifluous voice provides a strong moral center to the film, while casting a fable-like atmosphere that hooks the audience from his first word to his last. Freeman’s eloquent storytelling helped earn him a third Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

The Score

When a film embraces unabashed emotion with the verve and sincerity of “The Shawshank Redemption,” it runs the risk of overplaying its hand, musically speaking. Impressively, composer Thomas Newman’s powerful score enhances rather than eclipses the onscreen drama. His work was so memorable, it not only earned Newman the first of 12 Academy Award nominations, but was recycled in dozens of award-caliber movie trailers for years to come.

The Bromance

A moving meditation on male friendship, the relationship that gradually develops between prisoners Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) and Ellis ‘Red’ Redding (Freeman) forms the tender heart of the film. Their circumstantial bond, born of harsh confinement and few options, eventually grows beyond mutual respect into a beautifully realized expression of platonic love. Few movie couples are as committed to each other as these two lost souls.

The Title

Worried that the film could be mistaken for a Rita Hayworth biopic, Darabont trimmed the first three words of the novella’s title, but audiences were still confused by it. Freeman himself blamed the unusual moniker for the movie’s poor box office reception. Yet later, as its reputation grew, the unique name gave the film an identity all its own. Today, the word “Shawshank” instantly conjures up haunting images of gray stone walls and iron-barred windows.

Home Video

In what was seen as a risky move at the time, Warner Brothers shipped 320,000 VHS copies of the film, an absurdly high number for a major box office disappointment, and hoped for the best. Their gamble paid off handsomely and the movie finally found the audience it was waiting for. As word of mouth spread, the onetime failure became the most rented video of 1995, and remains a perennial bestseller on DVD and Blu-ray to this day.

Turner Network Television

While the VHS market was crucial in rehabilitating its commercial image, it wasn’t until “The Shawshank Redemption” debuted on Ted Turner’s TNT cable channel that it became a bona fide phenomenon. The network purchased the film’s broadcast rights in 1997 and quickly made it a staple of the New Classics series, where it’s played in near-perpetuity ever since. An annual Father’s Day favorite, it currently ranks among the most re-run movies in television history.

IMDb

For years, “The Shawshank Redemption” has reigned in the coveted No. 1 spot on the IMDb’s Top 250 highest rated movies list, as voted on by users. Sporting well over 1 million votes, the rating ranks it above such masterpieces as “The Godfather,” “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” and “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

The Ending

During the course of its 142 minutes, “The Shawshank Redemption” rarely shies away from depicting the violence, savagery and inhuman degradation that accompanies long-term incarceration. And yet the film’s message is ultimately one of hope. This is most obvious in the emotionally devastating climax that depicts two old friends on a sun-drenched beach far from the horrors of prison. In those final moments, the meaning of redemption is made crystal clear.

Kris Jenner Officially Files For Divorce From Bruce Jenner

Family patriarch Kris Jenner dispatched her lawyer to Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday to file for divorce from estranged husband Bruce Jenner.

The petition comes nearly a year after they announced their separation.

"We are living separately and we are much happier this way," they said in a joint statement last October. "But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority."

According to the filing, obtained by sources, Kris cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. She requests joint custody of their 17-year-old daughter, Kylie. (Their other daughter, Kendall, is 18.) Kris also seeks to retain her jewelry and all assets from the date of separation, listed as June 1, 2013.

Bruce, 64, and Kris, 58, tied the knot in 1991, bringing together a big brood that included Kris's kids Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, and Rob, and Bruce's kids Brody, Brandon, Casey, and Burt.

This was the third marriage for the former Olympic gold medalist, who was previously wed to Linda Thompson (1981-84) and Christi Crownover (1972-81). Kris, meanwhile, was married to the late Robert Kardashian from 1978 until 1991.

Bruce and Kris's separate lives became a plot point on their E! series Keeping Up With the Kardashians, as Kris lorded over their Calabasas, California, mansion and Bruce shacked up in his Malibu "man cave."

When the drama played out on TV, Bruce said, "To be honest, I just don't see myself going back. We both seem to be doing better with our space."

Along the way, he underwent a dramatic change in appearance, growing out his hair and having additional plastic surgery.

But true to their word, things have remained amicable between the two.

The couple grabbed some Starbucks before taking their pups to the park, and later sat down for lunch at a nearby cafe.

Kenan Thompson Leaving 'Saturday Night Live' After This Season

"Saturday Night Live" is about to lose it's most seasoned performer ... Kenan Thompson will be leaving the show after this season.

Sources connected to SNL say... Thompson -- the most tenured African-American cast member in the show's history -- planned to leave last season, but decided to stay after head honcho Lorne Michaels asked him to stay on ... citing the show's massive turnover this season.

We're told Kenan has no hard feelings and is leaving on great terms. Sources say he's in talks for a new show and plans on moving to L.A. (with his wife and brand new baby) when the season ends.

Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Quietly List Their Bel-Air Mansion For $11 Million

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have quietly listed their half-renovated Bel Air mansion for $11 million. They scooped up the pad shortly before daughter Nori's birth last June, but they never actually moved in due to the ongoing construction. The pair are now residing in their $20 million Hidden Hills home that they bought last month.

The abode was riddled with problems so potential buyers might want to think twice! Apparently there were issues with the electricity, water and heating in the house and workers had to to completely rewire the place.

The lovebirds had reportedly spent over $750,000 on four gold-plated toilets, nearly $1 million on Electrolux appliances, and they even ordered a Swarovski-encrusted fridge and freezer! The Daily Mail reported that Kimye spent over $1 million on six special edition luxury beds that are "covered in the same decadent gold silk used to create iconic Hermes ties, equating to some 1,600 miles of thread in total." A source previously told The Sun, "They expect the interior to cost twice as much as the property. They’re spending more than a million on a security system alone." The new owner better hope it comes furnished!

The home includes a hair and makeup salon, a bowling alley, both indoor and outdoor pools, a basketball court, a movie theater and a custom gym.

Idris Elba Provides Additional Proof That Nicolas Cage Might Actually Be A Vampire

Here we have an Idris Elba story about Nicolas Cage and Dracula's castle that basically proves that he is 100% definitely a vampire (or, at least, is exactly as eccentric as the Internet would like to believe). In Elba's own words, as told in his Reddit AMA:

Yeah - Nicolas Cage came back one day on set, and he came down to set and he looked a little bit tired, a little bit - kind of like he'd ben up all night. So I was like "hey Nic man, how you doing man" and he said "i'm alright' and I said "You seem a little spoked out" and he said "Yeah man, I went up to Dracula's castle...the ruins up in the mountains, and I stayed the night" and i said "What?! Why|?" and he said "I just had to channel the energy, and it was pretty spooky up there." We were shooting in Romania, Transylvania, and he just went up there to spend the night, as you do.

And then he walked away.

True story.
