So THIS Is Why Leonardo DiCaprio Has Been Growing Out His Grubby Beard

We figured Leonardo DiCaprio's messy beard was for a film role, and now we know a little bit more about it!

The first stills of Leo in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's The Revenant appeared on Entertainment Weekly today, and he's been nominated (and shut out!) five times for a Best Actor Oscar, so could this be his ticket to a golden statuette?

In case you didn't know, The Revenant is a 1800s biopic about Hugh Glass, an American fur trapper who trekked 200 miles across Missouri after being mauled by a grizzly bear. Glass was on an expedition with several partners, but they left him for dead after the attack. We're not sure how things went down once Glass got back to camp, and frankly, we don't want to know -- we'd like to save that for the movie! Tom Hardy stars as one of Glass' pals, and the film will hit theaters next Christmas.

"He’s a brave, incredible actor. I’m so surprised about how good he is," Inarritu says of DiCaprio. "I think there’s a profound understanding of humanity that I can see through his eyes." We can't wait to get a peek at the first trailer for this.

Bruce Jenner Will Address Transitioning Rumors On Keeping Up with the Kardashians

Bruce Jenner is ready to address his changing appearance and the rumors that he's transitioning into a woman, and the former Olympian will do it on the upcoming season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Us Weekly reports.

The reality star has been making headlines for months due to his increasingly feminine looks and behavior, and In Touch even put him on their cover and superimposed his face onto Dynasty star Stefanie Beacham's body to imply he was undergoing a sex change. "[Bruce] was upset by InTouch’s story," a source told the mag.

His famous family has been begging him to speak out, and he's decided he will finally break his silence. "Bruce and Kris address his changing appearance in a scene they shot together. It will be a plot line," another source told Us.

This will no doubt be KUWTK's highest rated episode!

Kris Jenner Calls Russell Brand "Super Sweet" For Defending Ex-Husband Bruce Amid Transitioning Rumors

Kris Jenner didn't know what they were talking about when photographers asked how she felt about Russell Brand coming to her ex Bruce's defense amid transitioning rumors at LAX yesterday, but once they told her the British comedian was taking a stand against the former Olympian's bullies, she was full of praise!

"Aw, that was nice - super sweet," she exclaimed as she made her way through the terminal.

In case you missed it, Katy Perry's ex urged the media and fans alike to leave the 65-year-old alone on his Youtube show. "This is bullying. Stop. Stop. Bruce Jenner is a human being. If you want to learn more about transgender issues, look at GLAAD.org. Transphobia seems to be the most recent and encouraged form of prejudice, now that racism and homophobia are not tolerated. It's such a celebration of the worst aspects of human values. What this does is it sanctions people being judgmental and cruel toward transgender folks," he explained.

Russell Brand Defends Bruce Jenner Amid Reports Reality Star Is Transitioning Into A Woman

We never would have imagined that Russell Brand would stick up for Bruce Jenner, but the British comedian did just that over the weekend in a video on his YouTube show Trews.

Russell went on a rant about how the media is picking apart Bruce's appearance and said:
"This is bullying. Stop. Stop. Bruce Jenner is a human being. If you want to learn more about transgender issues, look at GLAAD.org."

Bruce has been growing out his hair for quite some time now, and after stepping out with painted nails, diamond studs and what looks like lip gloss, many have been speculating that the reality star is transitioning into a woman. The latest issue of In Touch Weekly features Bruce with lipstick Photoshopped on his face, along with the title, "Bruce's Story: My Life As A Woman."

"Transphobia seems to be the most recent and encouraged form of prejudice, now that racism and homophobia are not tolerated," Brand continued. "It's such a celebration of the worst aspects of human values," Brand said. "What this does is it sanctions people being judgmental and cruel toward transgender folks."

Kendra Wilkinson And Hank Baskett Have Come A Long Way Since His Cheating Scandal

Kendra Wilkinson and husband Hank Baskett stepped out with their five-year-old son Hank Jr. in Calabasas over the weekend, and though she learned of his affair with transsexual model Ava London less than a year ago, it seems like the couple have worked their way back to a better place.

Or have they? We couldn't help but notice that the busty reality TV starlet pulled her sleeves halfway over her hands ... perhaps trying to hide the fact that she still isn't wearing her wedding ring?

The footballer posed in a bevy of ensembles for H&M's new Modern Essentials and Bodywear collections. The 39-year-old showed off his form form for the Spring 2015 range.

The new campaign, shot by film director Marc Forster, comes after the Brit's successful David Beckham Bodywear.

Jennifer Lopez Looks Downright Demure While Promoting The Boy Next Door

Jennifer Lopez stopped by The Wendy Williams Show to promote her new movie The Boy Next Door today in NYC, and the actress was dressed way more conservatively than usual. She isn't the J.Lo we know and love without midriff, lots of leg, or at least something sexy!

Speaking of sexy, check out the Latina stunner's new spread for Complex magazine! The entertainment mogul shared a couple sultry snapshots from her upcoming feature on Instagram this morning, and all we can say is WOW!

Dennis Rodman Gets Emotional Over North Korea In New Documentary

The always unpredictable Dennis Rodman gets emotional explaining his relationship with North Korea’s Kim Jong-un — and the death threats he’s gotten as a result — in a new film premiering next week at the Slamdance Film Festival.

The timing couldn’t be better for director Colin Offland and writer Matt Baker, who world-premiere their documentary Dennis Rodman’s Big Bang In Pyongyang in Park City just months after Sony Pictures was cyberattacked over The Interview’s depiction of Supreme Leader Kim.

Unlike VICE’s startling chronicle of Rodman’s 2013 tour of North Korea with the Harlem Globetrotters, Dennis Rodman’s Big Bang In Pyongyang zeroes in on the former NBA star himself as he returns with a team of ex-pros to the DPRK to organize a historic U.S.-North Korea basketball game in honor of his buddy Kim’s birthday. Shortly after returning from that controversial 2014 trip, Rodman checked into rehab and blamed a meltdown on CNN on alcohol.

In Deadline’s exclusive clip above, Rodman claims he wasn’t aware of some of the atrocities Kim Jong-un, a.k.a. The Marshal, committed against his own people. He weeps over the haters and critics who question his hoops diplomacy and closeness to the dictator and says, “I’m not Martin Luther King… if someone wanted to shoot me, please, do it today.” Rodman also claims he’s not in a position to ask for the release of prisoner Kenneth Bae, although months later he tweeted a plea for Kim to “do me a solid and let Kenneth Bae loose.”

Rodman is not scheduled to be in Park City, nor is he doing press ahead of the film’s debut. I hear that’s likely to change once the film lands a theatrical release. Dennis Rodman’s Big Bang In Pyongyang premieres January 25 at the Slamdance Film Festival, where CAA is repping sales.

Eddie Cibrian And LeAnn Rimes Seem Like They Actually Like Each Other

Holding hands? Laughing? We guess LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian really do like each other -- at least 'till they meet someone better ...

The couple arrived back in Los Angeles after quick trip to Louisiana, where LeAnn performed in two shows.

For their flight, Eddie was looking oh so cool in jeans, a black sweater and a leather jacket, while LeAnn was 50 shades of grey with a short skirt that highlighted her lean legs. The twosome looked like they couldn't get enough of each other as they exited LAX last night. It seems LeAnn has been in a great mood as of late.

On Saturday she tweeted a happy message, "Best night w/ friends and family! Louisiana... I love you."

Maybe LeAnn is in such a good mood because of the rumors circulating that the "Blue" singer finally has a bun in the oven?

The duo has been doing a lot of traveling in 2015. In addition to the trip to Louisiana, LeAnn and Eddie rang in the New Year with a romantic vacation in Mexico. Perhaps that's just what the doctor ordered for for the duo whose fertility issues have been documented on their VH1 reality show, LeAnn and Eddie.

We're not gonna lie -- we're kind of amazed that these two, who were married in 2011 after infamously leaving their spouses for each other, are still together and still smiling.

Chewbacca Hospitalized For Pnuemonia

Peter Mayhew, a.k.a. Chewbacca, has been hospitalized for pneumonia.

The guy who's played Chewie since the '70s cancelled an appearance over the weekend at a comic shop in Texas ... and "Star Wars" geeks went into panic mode when they heard he fell ill.

Peter's wife had good news for his fans, writing on Reddit, "He will make a full recovery, and hope to be discharged within a few days. Doctors are incredibly happy with his improvements."

The 70-year-old is set to reprise his role in the upcoming trilogy ... including "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

May the force be with you Peter.

Kate Hudson Gets Flirty With Her Trainer And Flaunts Her Body

Kate Hudson isn't just looking good these days -- she's looking great. She recently split from fiance Matt Bellamy and she's not wearing any makeup here, so that's really saying something.

The 35-year-old actress hit the gym on Saturday, and when her trainer dropped her off later in the day, we couldn't help but notice that the two seemed rather flirty! Is that the reason for her chipper mood, or was she still experiencing a post-workout high? Kate's trainer also seemed to be checking out her fab figure, but with a pair of shorts like this, how could you not stare at the starlet's amazing legs and derriere?!

Amber Rose Should Just Star In A Sex Tape Already

Over the weekend Amber Rose posted a photo of her infamous curves on Instagram, but rather than snapping a shot at the pool, she had a friend take pictures of her bent over on the balcony, showing off the front and back of her porno-licious g-string body suit. I mean, can you even call this a bodysuit?

Amber posted a total of four shots and captioned them, "Fleekin ... MILFIN ... Slaying ... Stifler's Mom." Ugh. What is she going to say when someone shows this photo to her son someday?

Box Office: ‘American Sniper’ Shatters Records With $90.2 Million Weekend

American Sniper” hit the bullseye, earning an astonishing $90.2 million in its debut weekend in wide release.

It is now on pace to decimate records for the Martin Luther King holiday and for the month of January, pulling in roughly $105 million over the four-day period. It’s also a new high-water mark for director Clint Eastwood, whose previous weekend record was the $29.5 million wide release opening for 2008’s “Gran Torino.” At 84, he’s still got it.

Iggy Azalea Lives The Good Life In New $275K Ferrari

On Friday Iggy Azalea took her new $275,000 Ferrari 458 for a spin as she grabbed lunch with Vogue editor Lynn Yaeger and went shopping at Barneys in Beverly Hills. Um, sounds like the perfect day to us! And look at that ride!

She while she kept her look fairly casual, with ripped jeans, a striped grey sweater, booties and a bolo hat.

Jennifer Aniston Breaks Silence On Angelina Jolie Feud: "I Think That's Slowly Coming To An End"

Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie were together in the same room for the first time in six years at last night's Critics Choice Awards, and rumors were flying that the former and current Mrs. Brad Pitt were being deliberately kept apart, but the Cake star broke her silence on her rumored feud with the Unbroken director and it doesn't sound like there's any bad blood between them anymore.

"I think that's slowly coming to an end. I really do. [Unbroken] is so beautiful and wonderful and [Jolie] did such a gorgeous job and I think it's time people stop with that petty B.S. and start celebrating great work and stop with the petty kind of silliness. It's just tiresome and old. It's like an old leather shoe," she confessed to ET's Jason Dundas during an interview.

Taylor Swift Is Back In The Big Apple After Shaking Off Harry Styles In The City Of Angels

Taylor Swift headed to a business meeting today in NYC, and the singer looked adorable and upbeat as she made her way into the building. The songstress didn't look like anything was bothering her, but the other night when she ran into her ex Harry Styles at Caleb Followill's birthday party in L.A. she certainly did!

The Grammy winner and her group of friends was approached by the One Direction crooner and his mates in the lobby of the Sunset Marquis hotel during the fete, and video of the encounter shows the blonde beauty completely ignoring the British hunk before walking off. That's some serious shade, and definitely not the behavior of someone who is over her heartbreak.

Katy Perry Prepares For Her Super Bowl Halftime Show By Slathering Weird White Stuff All Over Her Face

Katy Perry posted a makeup-free selfie yesterday, but most of her face is covered up by a creamy substance and what looks like plastic wrap. Whatever works!

Katy captioned the pic, "IRL facetune #preppinforpuppybowl #swag#bringswagbackin2k15," but she didn't provide any further details about her beauty treatment. The "Firework" singer will take the stage at the Super Bowl on February 1, and she recently revealed that Lenny Kravitz will be joining her as a musical guest. Other websites report that she's been trying to get Pharrell Williams to perform with her, but that hasn't been confirmed.

And speaking of duets with famous musicians, Katy has rekindled her romance with former beau John Mayer. Maybe the third time will be the charm? Oh wait, this would be their FOURTH attempt at a relationship. Though they've been quite hot 'n cold (pun intented) over the years, a source tells People that the duo are "in love" and they've really missed one another. "They have to make time for each other and figure out how they can be together in a smooth relationship," the source says.

Bruce Jenner Magazine is Out of Touch Says Ex-Wife

Bruce Jenner is telling close friends ... she's outraged at "In Touch" for photo-shopping a picture of ex-husband Bruce Jenner on the cover with all the female fixin's.

The cover is shocking ... Bruce has never said he's going down the road to change his sex, but the cover reads that way. Kris is telling friends, "It's just mean to do whether or not it's true."

Her reaction is interesting and somewhat equivocal, but she's saying she has contempt for the mag jumping to conclusions and then altering the image to fit its story.

As for Bruce ... one of his close friends just told us, "He doesn't even pay attention to this stuff."

John Travolta Looks Totally Different Without His Hair

John Travolta posed alongside a man he found himself chatting up at a Florida gym at 3am the other day, and the actor must have removed his hair before he broke a sweat. Who knew he was this bald?

2015 Oscar Nominations: Complete List

The Academy Award nominations were announced Thursday morning in Los Angeles.

Director Wes Anderson has crossed over from art-house darling to academy favorite. The auteur’s offbeat dramedy “The Grand Budapest Hotel” scored nine nominations, equaling Alejandro González Iñárritu’s unconventional, genre-defying film, “Birdman,” for the most nominations.

The most obvious snub was “Selma,” Ava DuVernay’s moving biopic about Martin Luther King Jr. Despite a nod for best picture and best original song (for Common and John Legend’s recent Golden Globe-winning “Glory”), the film’s director and actors were shut out in their respective categories.  David Oyelowo missed out on a best actor nomination, but more surprisingly, Ava DuVernay was not acknowledged in the best director category, a nomination that would have been the first for an African American woman.
